[Vintage Broadcast from December 2018]
As we're getting into the swing of the new year, this topic is incredibly important!
Many of us are turning our focus to new projects and new commitments, feeling the energy of 'spring' on the horizon. Understanding the difference between an 'excuse' and a 'reason' matters now more than ever!
Being able to recognize which one you're dealing with, and responding appropriately, changes everything that comes next.
-- An 'excuse' dismisses the underlying dynamics and possibilities. (Fear, desire, protection, beliefs, values, etc)
-- A 'reason' considers all of the information honestly, and uses it to make the next best move. (More, less, stop, start.)
I, too, am learning these nuances. My desire is to be BOTH gentle with myself AND maintain my integrity, drive and focus. This distinction allows for all of that.
Please reach out and let me know what questions you have, or share your own insight about how you see this showing up in your life. I love hearing from you!!
Enjoy your day, and here's to a joyous New Year!!
