UNTAMING THE WILD
-- You know all those amazing online courses & programs you’ve paid for? --
The ones sitting there, taunting you -- making you feel bad about all the money you've 'wasted'?
You're carrying them around (physically and/or energetically), and you swear you’re going to get to it one of these days...
It's time to get them DONE!
What IS Study Hall?
[ Study Hall ] is the place to clear out the to-do list clutter.
Each session, you'll re-commit to something that matters to you. Commitment looks like action.
Action is what [ Study Hall ] is all about!
------------------------
You know that project you’ve been putting off for weeks, months, years?!
(Or that thing you're just WAY too distracted to work on right now...aka everything...)
Yep. Bring it to [ Study Hall ].
...that book you’ve been meaning to read (or write).
...the poetry you’ve been meaning to create.
...the business plan you’ve been meaning to finish.
...the podcasts that keep piling up.
Yes, all of it.
You get to bring anything you’re committed to, but haven’t been able to stick with long enough, consistently enough, to create meaningful momentum.
Those are the things we’re going to work on.
No more 'someday'. You're finally going to get it DONE!
We won’t actually DO all the work together. (That would be boring.)
Just like in school, you will use this time to focus on your own projects.
AND, just like Study Hall, this is all about real-time accountability so you’re on the hook for getting it DONE!
(or at least STARTED which really is the hardest part.)
Don’t worry — no shaming, no guilt.
You will experience the power of showing up, being seen, and keeping the commitments you’ve made to yourself.
[ HINT ] -- None of us do big things alone.
We need to know other people have our back, and that we're not 'crazy'.
That's what this is REALLY all about.
How does it work?
- [ Study Hall ] is open the first Monday of every Month (10am PST / 1pm EST / 6pm GMT)
- For that cozy group feeling, we’ll be hanging out on Zoom. (Don't worry, it’s free and easy-to-use.)- We'll work for two, 40-minute blocks of time with check-ins and an optional, but highly encouraged, dance party!!
- You'll get to meet other fabulous folks and learn you're not alone.
- No matter what else happens this week, you'll know that for at least two hours you made progress on something that matters to you!! Winning!!!
what's the catch??
No catch. This is what I'm here to do.
My purpose in this lifetime is to support people who are called to do ‘big things’. This takes many forms, but I work with people who know they want to do something that matters to them, and makes the world a better place.
For many years, I thought I was supposed to be DOING all the big things. Damn. That was exhausting!
Luckily I realized that’s not my job. My job is to be the space-holder, cheer-leader, strategist, healer, and guide for LOTS of other folks as they’re finding, and doing, their ‘job’ (aka Purpose).
Changing the world isn’t easy. It gets lonely. It isn’t always fun. And none of us feels 100% up to the challenge.
Here’s what I’ve come to understand:
There are no BIG things, there are only small things that add up to big things. Think about it. No one has ever written a book. They've sat down, day after day, and written words that would later become a book.
No one has ever built an empire, or made huge social change. They've stuck to their vision, and their commitment, day after day. With enough of those days strung together, massive things have happened!
This is exactly why I’ve created Study Hall.
We get hung up on HOW we’re going to do the ‘big thing’. I totally get it; this happens to me too.
This is where we get stuck. The ‘thing’ feels SO big we don’t know where to start. Or if we do, we’re not sure taking all these small actions will ever be enough to make a difference.
But remember — “There are no big things.” Yeah. This is the paradox. It turns out the little things are the ONLY things that matter.
[ Study Hall ] is where the small things lead to big things.
I'm in. Sign me up.
Let's get things done![STUDY HALL] QUARANTINE EDITION - WRAP UP!
For six weeks, May-June 2020, we held an extra special edition of [Study Hall] and it was wonderful!
A big thank you to everyone who came along to any of our Study Hall, Tutor Time or Recess sessions, it was fun, informative and we got things done!
Also a big thanks to our additional [ Study Hall ] hosts: Kris Lantheaume, Cindy Goldfield, Barb Klein, Annette Flynn and Jennifer Jines.
Jennifer is continuing the magic of Recess here: https://www.kindagious.com/virtual-recess/
We also hosted [ Tutor Time ] sessions and were incredibly grateful to learn from our tutors, Stephen Warley, Paul Sockett, Sarah Harney and Barb Klein, as well as myself!
See below for more info on our Quarantine Edition of [ Study Hall ].
BONUS -- [TUTOR TIME]
During our special Quarantine Edition, I hosted a special guest who tackled a particular topic relevant to this unusual time.
We cleared out the clutter (physical and digital). We re-imagined our finances and got clear on how much is enough. We got crystal clear on new Covid-friendly business offerings. And perhaps most importantly, we took a whole new approach to self-care.
NOTE: [Tutor Time] = Short Interactive Lesson + Focused Action on that Topic!
If you DO want to watch the replays, these aren't short little instructional videos. They're meant to be used as a working block of get-it-done time. The replays will be most helpful to you if you really set aside the time to do the work. That's the magic of [ Study Hall ]!!

>> May 11 - Barb Klein // Self Care in Turbulent Times"Self-Care” is an overused and often misunderstood word – a concept that is being monetized, tracked, and turned into just one more thing to do. It's hard enough on a good day, but add a global pandemic to that, and it often flies right out the window.
In this session, Barb Klein, Possibilitator at Inspired Possibility, will share the way she looks at self-care, help you to see why it’s the foundation of everything else, and guide you to know your own needs and tendencies better. You’ll see what’s getting in the way of self-care, break through these obstacles, and identify some practices or strategies you can begin trying out right away. You will leave with some simple next steps and a commitment to honor yourself, moment by moment, even in a global pandemic.
And last, but not least...DON'T FORGET RECESS!!
We also added some love and light to your Friday afternoons!
You've made it to the end of another week, let's celebrate! No work, just fun!
We all know that recess was the best part of school. After being in [Study Hall] all week, we let loose on Fridays and for a good ol' playdate online. Recess puts a virtual twist on some favorite games.
Jennifer Jines from Kindagious, was our wonderful Recess Coach and chief play cheerleader.
